This year´s Christmas card: From micro to macro cosmos.
Micro: The periodic system celebrates 150 years this year. In 1869 the Russian Dmitry Mendeleev published a table of the elements of the earth. At that time it was far from complete. As late as three years ago, Oganesson, Og, a noble gas with the atomic number 118, was added.
Macro: The Nobel Prize in Physics 2019 will be awarded research on exoplanets and our understanding of the structure of the universe. An exoplanet is a planet outside our own solar system.
