Summary
The aim is to master methods for producing and understanding materials whose properties as well as use are dominated by quantum mechanical effects. Research is interdisciplinary and there is collaboration between sections for solid state physics, solid state chemistry, solid state theory, synchrotron light physics, applied nuclear physics and applied electronics. The programme is carried out in close co-operation with SSF’s programme Nano Science and with projects financed by VR (formerly NFR and TFR). A joint Project Management Group runs a total of some 40 projects.
