Summary
There are three objectives: * Improving specific competence within Uptime Management. To improve Volvo competence in statistical modeling and machine learning in the context of algorithms used for condition monitoring of Volvo products and subsystems or functionality. A dedicated project group be formed, with members from Volvo companies. The group keader will be the researcher from the university. * Strengthening of industry-university collaboration through publicly funded projects. The goal is to formulate at least one project proposal that will be successfully accepted. The project shall be within the area of Uptime Management including the competences mentioned above. Volvo and the university/ies shall be members of the project team or consortium. * Usage monitoring (concrete project). The project scope here is to define the technical possibilities and suggest solutions for how to monitor usage of the Volvo Group Products; such as a distribution truck or a city bus.

Det finns tre mål med projektet: * Förbättra Volvos kompetens inom "Uptime Management" med statistisk modellering och maskinlärande. Här skall en grupp med ingenjörer skapas och utgöra en kompetensgrund för tillståndsskattning ("condition monitoring") och skattning av funktionalitet. Gruppen leds av gästforskaren från högskolan/universitetet. * Stärka samarbetet och samarbetsplattformen mellan universitet/högskola och Volvo genom att formulera och få finansierat ett projekt inom "Uptime Management". Ett projekt med Volvo och universitet/högskola som parter. * Ett konkret projekt inom användningsskattning, d.v.s. utveckling av metoder för att mäta hur ett fordon används - i syfte att förbättra fordonets "uptime". Ett exempel är att modellera föraren, eftersom föraren är en mycket viktig del i påverkan och slitage på fordonet.
