Apply for SSF Industrial Doctoral Student 2025!
It is time to apply for this year’s grant for Industrial Doctoral Student! SSF is investing 39 million SEK in research and postgraduate education. The aim of the call is to strengthen cooperation between academia and industry. The grant will result in a doctoral degree.
The grants will be distributed between 12 industrial doctoral students who will receive 3.25 million SEK each. The aim of the program is to contribute to excellent research in the areas SSF funds: natural sciences, technology and medicine. Joint doctoral students between industry and higher education institutions increase cooperation between the sectors, drive innovation, while at the same time examining doctors with high attractiveness for Swedish industry.
The investment applies to people who have not yet been admitted to postgraduate education. During the grant period, the doctoral student must conduct research and be at least 80 percent employed by a company, and have two supervisors, one at the higher education institution and one at the company. The higher education institution must be Swedish.
The main applicant is the supervisor of the doctoral student at the higher education institution. Co-applicants are supervisors at the company. The definition of companies also includes hospitals to cover medical/clinical research.
The application deadline is May 21, 2025 at 2:00 PM.
The project will start sometime between January 1 and June 30, 2026.
