New opportunity to apply for Industrial Postdoctoral position!
With the call for applications for “Industrial Postdoctoral Fellowship (IPD)”, the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research, SSF, is allocating SEK 15 million. The grant will finance the research of a researcher with a doctoral degree no more than five years old.
It is strategically important to contribute to mobility between academia and industry for young researchers with a doctorate. Therefore, this call gives researchers from universities the opportunity to carry out a postdoctoral stay at a company.
The purpose of the program is to contribute to needs-driven excellent research within SSF’s areas of activity in natural sciences, technology or medicine. It will also promote cross-fertilization between academia and industry and contribute to the training of strategically relevant industrial researchers.
The researcher must have at least fifty percent employment at a university and is expected to spend approximately half of their time at a company.
The doctoral degree must be completed by the start of the project!
The grant covers a period of one to three years. SSF intends to finance a maximum of 10 projects of a maximum of SEK 1.5 million each (including indirect costs), which shall be co-financed to at least 30 percent by industry.
The call complements SSF’s other cross-sectoral programs such as Strategic Mobility, Industrial Doctoral Student, Research Institute Doctoral Student and Adjunct Professor.
The application deadline is September 8, 2026 at 2:00 PM. Project start will be between January 1 and June 30, 2027.
