Summary
Research and graduate training focused on robotics technology. The aim is to develop industrially relevant systems that can work autonomously over a long periods of time – in familiar or unfamiliar surroundings – while they solve specific problems or achieve specific goals. These types of systems can for instance be sent to do work in environments that are hazardous to humans. They can also assist in boring or difficult tasks like cleaning, transportation and supervision. This grant ended in 2001.
