Summary
The goal is to enhance the Internet infrastructure to meet all user and operator requirements, those of the future as well as those of today. Three areas are adressed in particular: Routing architectures, Service architectures and application overlays and Self-managed networks and terminals. The continuation phase is focused on consolidation and dissemination of the resultsfrom the first three years by developing four prototypes: Distributed router, Intermittent connectivity environment, Energy-conserving sensot network and Content delivery overlay.
