They make the immune system better at attacking cancer

Getting a patient’s own immune system to attack cancer cells has become an increasingly effective method. But unfortunately, it doesn’t work for all patients. Why is that? Yumeng Mao and his research group at Uppsala university want to understand which genes are involved and influence them so that immunotherapy works for more people.
