They want to make smarter and more efficient electronics

The basis of the electronics we use today, such as home computers and mobile phones, was invented more than 50 years ago. And in recent years its development has begun to stall. According to Mattias Borg and his research group at Lund University, this is because the material in electronics, silicon, is not efficient enough for the new functionality we need today. Therefore, researchers now integrate new materials, so-called III-V semiconductors, together with silicon, to realize much more efficient and versatile electronics. Watch the movie here!
