Summary
In the future, gene therapy may contribute to cure many diseases. This programme is focused on cancer and diseases of the central nervous system and is based on support for co-operative projects, with VR (previously MFR) as co-ordinator and SSF, The Swedish Cancer Society and the Knut och Alice Wallenberg Foundation also giving financial support. The research budget has been distributed among 10 groups, and a network has been established.
