Replacing human tissue by cell sheet tissue engineering. Professor Teruo Okano, Tokyo Women’s Medical University, Japan, has started clinical studies in cooperation with Karolinska Institutet, Sweden.
They are using a new technique to transplant tissue in esophagus cancer. This was discussed at the Sweden-Japan BioNano Workshop.
