Summary

The broad aim of this project is to contribute to the nation wide effort to strengthen Sweden’s innovative ability and at the same time increase the quality of services offered by private and public organisations. This is done by taking concepts such as user-driven innovation and user-centric design one step further and develop methods that specify how these visions can be accomplished. For theses methods to have an impact on society and on the innovation level in companies they need to facilitate distributed user involvement and fit the conditions and environment of companies within the IT-sector. To accomplish this I will participate in the creation and development of Ericsson’s Service Provider Research (SPR) testbed with knowledge and research on methods and tools for user-driven innovation and on IT-support for distributed user involvement. Expected results of this project will be more up to date methods for developing IT-based services. More effective and efficient development of IT-related products and services in Sweden by both public and private organisations since these will be based on genuine knowledge of organisation’s and users needs, activities and behaviour. Finally, increased innovative capacitive of public and private organisations when they develop a close relation to relevant user groups and thereby can pick-up new trends and identify new markets in an early stage.
